CARRYINGMONSTERS4-13.jpg

In his tenth comedy special, Christopher Titus goes even further into the absurd nightmares of this life– from his mother taking him to pubs as a toddler, to getting kidnapped by his father, and later, coming out the other side of his nightmare of an ex-wife.

In his decades of doing stand-up, Titus has always mined the darkness of the broken side of humanity. In “Carrying Monsters,” Titus takes a boring machine, and drills further through the mantle of his mother’s insanity, his father’s alcoholism, his sister’s damage, and his brutal 13-year divorce. The show is a desperately funny search to learn from the last generation’s damage, so he doesn’t continue it with his own kids, his new wife and his very soul.

It’s not a tragedy, if you can add a punchline.
